About Seminar on Selected Issues in Civics and Ethical Studies


The course is designed to acquaint students of Civic and Ethical Studies with fundamental civics and Ethical issues in general global issues in general. It also deals with the historical development of globalization and its effects on economic sovereignty. The course also discusses transnational organizations argument, environmental crisis and global warming including international environmental protection efforts, political issues such as Conflicts, Terrorism, and nuclear proliferation and bad governance. Moreover, the course introduces about various current global socio-economic issues including gender and corruption, child and drug trafficking, poverty and hungry, impact of rapid population growth and HIV/ AIDS. Course Objective and Competences to be acquired After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:  Identify various political, economic, environmental and social issues;  Realize the impact of rapid population growth and HIV/ AID ;  Investigate the impact of poverty in political relation;  Examine how gender issues become one part of current global issue; and,  Discuss about the sources, cusses, effects and combating mechanisms of corruption.
