Introduction to vector biology, identification of arthropod vectors of medical importance and their prevention and control methods. Introduction to Parasitology; classification of medically important helminthes and protozoa; mode of transmission, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, laboratory diagnosis, prevention and control of medically important parasites; different diagnostic techniques used in Parasitology (principles and techniques for diagnosis of parasitic disease); preparation, proper storage and quality control of different reagents used in parasitological investigations; proper specimen collection, processing, examination and reporting for parasitological tests; apply basic quality control measures in Parasitology laboratory.
