About Basic Urban Design
Through a studio project, strategies and scenarios for on-site relocation and nearby relocation of a target population in an urban upgrading project will be studied. Similarly, strategies ad scenarios for the housing of relocated inhabitants in an inner city urban renewal project will be explored. The studio will be based on an existing inner city settlement. Key issues of housing such as: affordability, tenure, housing actors and financing mechanisms will be taken into considerations To understand the relationship between housing and inner city redevelopment through a practical studio work.
