Peace, Environment and Development looks at the ways in which human activities in general and peace in particular is embedded in, and shaped by, environmental contexts in various forms. The course explores relationship between peace, environment and development both theoretically and in practical perspectives. In due course, it introduces the basic concepts of environment, peace and development. It then goes on to the discussion of theories/perspectives on environment and global environmental threats. Next, it raises the agenda of the practice of international and national environmental policies. Finally, the course deals with an overview of the nexus between environment and conflicts.
